It is weird for a battle royal to go this route, because the traditional mechanic of a sky vehicle taking the players worked very well. There is a single drop point every player flies from, opposed to a ship, plane, or bus flying traveling over the map. Ubisoft is releasing a sci-fi Battle Royale game called Hyper Scape after the success of games like PUBG, Fortnite, Apex Legends and Call of Duty Warzone. Finally, Season 2 will give players a rank based on how they perform in the Crown Rush Squad mode. The new firearm can launch “sticky bursts of timed explosives,” Ubisoft revealed in a press release, that appear to work best when your opponent doesn’t have anywhere to run. Although thinking on it I dont have enough confidence to pre-fund ANY MMO. I'll gladly play if something fun get's pulled off but I dont have enough confidence to pre-fund. I was excited about DAoC and let down, excited about warhammer and let down. I sadly have little confidence in the kickstarter. GW2 has it's own issues (dislike mesmer portals and aoe bombing) but I believe it to still be the best RvR to date. Ultimately I've been impressed with Gw2, the WvWvW was a great solution to the problem of side imbalance (the single toughest issue with RvR). The warhammer MMO showed that style of RvR wasn't going to work anymore. The problem is that those mechanics were ultimately terrible. And early in it's life it was 1 of a kind, so the kind of large scale pvp had to of been a blast for the time. I fully believe that there was fun in that game. Map control was far from fluid, more often the entire landscape would change due to alarm clock raids.Ĭhalices simply end up with the strong getting stronger. Our issues included:Ĭrafting and levelling were terrible grinds. Sadly we had approximately no fun with the game. Of course by chance we picked hib, the woefully outnumbered side. A friend and I played it for a bit preceeding WoW since we really wanted a pvp focused MMO. I'm afraid my opinion may be contrary to the group when it comes to DAoC. Update 04/02: Kickstarter is live with some interesting tier rewards. Though I have one question: will there be PBAoE in it? I've always said that proper world PvP needs more than 2 sides to make it work well, a good recent example is PS2, and this looks like a very interesting project to keep track of. I cannot wait for this, the only thing that drove me away from DAoC was the outdated engine and how it could easily be abused in terms of lag (ghosting through walls and dying = BAD!). The focus on RvR will mean it should be an interest for a core group who won't have an issue paying a sub, and, like the Kickstarter funding, I've no issues with this myself. "Multi-tiered subscription with no free-to-play option but with (maybe) some cosmetic items for housing" While I don't like the subscription model any more I could see it working very well for this. There's almost no PvE (just a training area, some special events, etc.), and everything we add will always be tied into RvR." Every system, skill, ability, gameplay element, etc., is geared toward RvR. "The biggest difference is that RvR isn't the endgame - it's the only game. However, if we meet our stretch funding goals, we can aim to implement them either for launch or as soon after as they're ready." The plan is to use Kickstarter to get the majority of the $5m needed to launch it, personally I'm gonna throw as much towards it as I can! We have more features and elements in mind to add via expansion packs. "The total budget will be over $10 million, of which we need about half to launch the game. I want this one to stand on its own, even if it does draw on some of the same literature and traditions." "While legally I would be able to make a spiritual successor to Dark Age of Camelot, I would rather focus on making this game great rather than on it as a sequel. "By the way, when I say RvR-focused, I mean that every aspect of this game will be designed from the perspective of how it impacts RvR." "The game is an RvR-focused (almost no PvE) MMO that looks more to the past than the present for gameplay inspiration." Massively has a very good Q&A with Jacobs, the key points being: So Mark Jacobs (previously Mythic and EA Mythic) who was the driving force behind the best MMO I've every played (Dark Age of Camelot) has finally started leaking more info on his new project.Ĭamelot Unchained is going to be an RvR (Realm vs Realm) focused 3-sided MMO based on the same IP that DAoC was based on (Arthurian, Gaelic folklore, Viking mythology) and will once again set the three realms against each other. ![]() Alternative 5: Activity MonitorĪctivity Monitor is a system monitor for the macOS operating system, and it offers similar functionality to Task Manager in Windows. On May 17, 2018, YouTube announced a new version of the YouTube Music service, including a web-based desktop player and redesigned mobile app, more dynamic recommendations based on various factors, and the use of Google artificial intelligence technology to search songs based on lyrics and descriptions. Although redundant to Google's existing Google Play Music All Access subscription service, the app is designed for users who primarily consume music through YouTube. The YouTube Music app was unveiled in October 2015 and released the following month its release came alongside the unveiling of YouTube Premium (originally called YouTube Red), a larger subscription service that covers the entirety of the YouTube platform, including the Music app. The service superseded Google Play Music as Google's main brand for music streaming on December 1, 2020. These subscription benefits are also offered to subscribers of YouTube Premium. The service also offers a premium tier, which enables ad-free playback, audio-only background playback, and downloading songs for offline playback. Support for podcasts was introduced in April 2023. It provides a tailored interface for the service, oriented towards music streaming, allowing users to browse through songs and music videos on YouTube based on genres, playlists, and recommendations. YouTube Music cannot be played in the background for free users, which means the smartphone screen is always on and hence a battery drain. In fact, there is no hard limit on the number of songs downloaded to a device - it is all dependent on the amount of internal storage available. Users only need to allocate a specific amount of device storage for the downloads. The YouTube Music app has a smart download feature that will automatically download songs to your phone overnight using Wi-Fi, based on your listening habits and preferences, so that users will have songs for their daily commute. For titles that are available as a song and as a music video, users can seamlessly switch between the two via a toggle in the app.įree users can select any song and skip tracks as often as they like for YouTube Music, unlike Spotify's free tier for mobile which has limits on skipping songs and song selection. ![]() However, YouTube Music offers more than just songs from the music labels - it has live performances, remixes, covers, music videos and other user-uploaded content.
